Undiagnosed skin rash
Mouth sores with drooling
Abdominal pain
Influenza
Chicken Pox
Hand, Foot, Mouth
Strep Throat
Pink Eye
Infestation such as scabies or head lice
**Please do not medicate your child and then send him/her to school. The medication may relieve symptoms but the child is still considered contagious to other children and staff.
Children will be excluded from participation in the program if they exhibit symptoms of any communicable disease. They will not be permitted to return to the program until they are no longer contagious. Parents must present a doctor’s note stating the child is no longer contagious and can return to the program. The Growing Place reserves the right to refuse to allow a child to return if the Director or designee believes the child to be too ill to participate in the program.
Children excluded from the program due to fever may not return to the program until they are fever-free, without fever-reducing medication, for 24 hours. If a child is sent home due to a fever, he/she is not permitted to return to the program the following day at a minimum. A fever is defined as a temperature reading on a thermometer of at least 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or more as taken under the arm.
